DESCRIPTION
The Hialeah Passenger and Freight Station was an existing building adjacent to a facility tagged for demolition during a renovation project.
ACAI expressed concerns that the building had historic value and could be damaged in the course of the projected work. When it was determined that the 1929 Mediterranean Revival style rail station was eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places, ACAI performed a Level II Documentation of the facility and submitted specifications that would safeguard the rail station from any demolition on the property. The building was saved and is now fully restored.
