ACAI's charge in this project was unique: Develop a multiple building
facility preserving the original 1926 schoolhouse building as the centerpiece of an
elementary school campus, in an urban setting
within the city of Lake Worth in South Florida.

ACAI was responsible for remolding an open space
plan elementary
school to a more conventional
classroom setting and expanding the facility to twice
its present size. Services included master planning, programming, architecture, engineering and
contract administration.

ACAI is the Design Criteria Professionals for
this new,
state of the art, 240,000 sf facility with the distinction
of
being the first project fits complexity delivered as a partnered, joint use
facility on City owned land as part
of an eighty acre master planned
educational/
sports complex.

This "medical school" was designed to be part of the
Nova
Southeastern University's Health Professions
Division campus in Davie,
Florida.
The Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine, Optometry,
Medical Sciences,
Allied Health and Pharmacology
make up the university's HPD
Campus by way of six interconnected buildings. Teaching and
ancillary facilities include Deans and Administration offices
complete with Student Services and full service kitchen and
cafeteria;
wet labs; spacious state of the art auditoria/lecture
halls;
a "Harvey Room"; a complete medical library, anatomy
lab with
media room; and complete production labs for
the Optical Dispensary
and Pharmacy.
A separate Clinic Building serving the community is equipped with
PT/OT Clinics, a Pediatrics Clinic, Optical Dispensary, and
Radiology and MRI facilities and a connected 6 level parking garage
for over
1,400 cars services for the vehicular needs of the school's
